5 On machines with one carrier roller per
side, place a mark on the track roller
frame .4 inch or 10 millimeters behind the
rear edge of the front idler bearing
assembly.
On machines with more than one carrier
roller per side, mark the track roller frame
.5 inch or 13 millimeters behind the rear
edge of the assembly.
6 Open the hydraulic relief valve one
turn maximum.
7 Place track pin or drawbar pin between
sprocket teeth near the link.
8 Then move the machine in reverse until
idler backs up 1/2" (13 mm) or more.
The pin will be in approximately the
“12 o’clock position” of the sprocket.
Then move the machine forward until
the pin is free of the sprocket; remove
the pin.
9 Close the hydraulic relief valve. Extend
hydraulic track adjuster until the rear
edge of the idler bearing assembly
aligns with mark on roller frame.
Note: the resulting reference sag should
be about 2" (50 mm) on these models.
Use for indication of approximate ten-
sion only.
